Council Minutes · Session 9
Stolen secrets, backstory, and clowns. Oh my!
The Goo Crew has a relatively peaceful day
Things are starting to settle down a little bit for the party, so it’s time to tie up some loose ends before the Autumn sets sail!
Stumbling back to their bunks on the Autumn, the party mostly climbs into bed for some sleep, but Bren takes it upon herself to “check on” Aradyn and help him into bed properly after Blorp blorped him unceremoniously onto the floor of his cabin (there’s definitely no ulterior motive there…), and Mace stays up a while working on his prosthetic arm.
Waking up much refreshed, Aradyn can’t seem to find his spellbook, but luckily Bren “found it in the hallway last night on her way to her bunk where it had fallen out of Blorp”. The party, sans Aradyn who stays behind to become more acquainted with the crew, heads back into the city to run some last errands before the ship heads out into space.
On the docks, they encounter a crowd gathered around a plasmoid street preacher speaking about how everyone will return to the primordial ooze and calling non-plasmoids his “flesh-bound brethren.” Blorp makes it pretty clear that this preacher is a heretic, and plans are made to attend the meeting he tells them about that evening to make sure nothing bad happens. Stopping by the Star Rail, MADS learns a great deal about his origins, though they have missed his creator, who has left on a trip on the Star Rail, by several days. In talking to Pardrick, a gnome tinkerer there, they discover that MADS has a crystal holding his consciousness—not unlike the one used to alter the black market spelljamming helms.
After returning the rings Ermine gave the party to assist with the transport of the spelljamming helm to Mahaxara, he tells them that the Mercanes have been watching the helm and that it has left the Shell.
In Tinker Town, Mace helps Henrick, another gnome tinkerer, figure out a problem he’s having with a prototype rideable cannon he is working on. In turn, Henrick accepts a job from Mace to help him with one of his many projects.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party heads to the Arena to make some more gold before heading out. On the way, Bren asks Justinia about where she is from, a question Justinia strongly deflects, and what she knows about the 4th dimension. Justinia latches onto this topic with much more gusto, and, in typical Justinia fashion, projects EVERYTHING she knows about the topic into Bren’s mind. Unable to process so much information at once, Bren slams down the walls around her mind. The area around the Arena has been transformed into a carnival, and Luchia shows off some acrobatics moves as they head toward the registration line…
