Council Minutes · Session 12

Water planet!

The Goo Crew gets their feet wet!

The party begins investigating the submerged ruins where Captain Grayskyn said they’ll find the artifact.

Having finally gotten the sloop under control, the party makes their way to the submerged ruins. Once there, Blorp—who can hold his breath for an hour—forms himself into “Mer!Blorp” to swim down into the ruins. After a bit of swimming, Mer!Blorp notices a large shadow and realizes there is a whale-sized fish with multiple eyes, a long nose, and sharp teeth coming toward him. He beats a quick retreat, flopping back onto the sloop to report the new obstacle that blocks their path.

Not quite knowing what to do, the party decides to head off and attempt to find some locals to talk to. Unfortunately, Captain Grayskyn did not overestimate their dislike of outsiders—as soon as the sloop gets in range, the lizard people start firing off primitive, though effective, weapons at them. Aradyn gets hit by a few stray arrows and exploding shots while the party pulls alongside one of the fishing craft, Justinia yanks one of the lizards onboard the sloop, and they take back off into the skies, now with a prisoner. Although he is a slippery fellow and momentarily evades restraint, the party eventually manages to hold him down so Justinia can put thoughts into his brain and Bren, who has prepared Comprehend Languages, can translate his spoken responses. In this way the party learns that the fish Blorp saw is a great beast that guards the “Elders’” temple. They also learn that the lizards use a stewed weed that allows them to breath underwater!

Not wanting to let him go to potentially alert these “Elders” of the party’s plans, some discussion begins as to what they should do with him. The discussion does not last long however. Inferring what needs to be done, Mace pulls out his gun and shoots the lizard.

The party stops on a small island to let Aradyn rest and to find some of this weed that will let them breath underwater. MADS, Bren, and Aradyn stay behind on the sloop, and Bren gives Aradyn hell for not preparing Mage Armor every day and almost getting himself killed, offering to let him copy the spell if he doesn’t have it in his spell book. Meanwhile, Justinia, Blorp, Mace, and Lucia stumble across some terrifying alien crocodiles! As they sprint away from the crocs, the rest of the party hears their shouts…
